plants for african oddball tank?

ás the title says i´m starting a new tank. since I will have synos I dont want to be too planted.

I will have anubias nanas. I need plants from africa in the background and to sides of the tank that grows high. Suggestions?

How about some Onion plants? Very hardy...and most fish wont even touch them
