Q for same pacu-pending-ponds:
is there a plant, preferably surfacing or emergent, that pacu won't eat?
or is it the usual "overfeed & cross your fingers" situation that's not working for the pond-turtles?

Lilies & others are long-gone (on the turtle side) & water's been a bit too deep for papyrus. Cat-tails will be the next trial, but not crossing fingers. Thoughts on cress? The peppery hint might be off-putting, though again not crossing fingers...
Koi, tilapia & oscars have been no problem to date, nor even have the little rift valley cichlids. The place was lush prior to the (%$##!) turtles...

Pacu are voracious eaters. They are also extremely curious and inquisitive. With no fingers and hands, they only have their mouth and teeth to investigate their world. They are capable of chewing, consuming or destroying anything in their tank including but not limited to suction cups and air lines and filter uptakes. IMO nothing is safe in their tank..no plant or inanimate object if pacu can get their teeth on it.
