Today I noticed about ten stalks with 2 leaves at the tip growing in my sump.
They are about 1.5" tall and growing in the white filter wool.
I recently added two giant gouramis to the tank. Could this be seeds from the food the previous owner was feeding?

Maybe the owner had a bird cage next to the aquarium and some bird seed fell in... lol... I don't know ??... :)

I can't tell what those are yet, bit of it were me I would let them grow. Plants growing in your sump isnt a bad thing. Just one more filtration stage. I would even go as far as to say that it's a good idea to plant your sump to let them absorb as much nitrates and ammonia as possible
