Are there any plants that would survive in the enclosure and not be harmful to my rhino iguana?

I'm looking to add a little greenery, and try to make it a little more naturalistic if possible. Lighting shouldn't be a problem, and the substrate is topsoil and play sand mixed (85% topsoil, 15% sand), so should be fine for planting.

I was thinking along the lines of grasses, shrubs, etc?

Thanks...

I think any and all plants that you add to the enclosure will either be trampled or eaten by your iguana. When I had my Green Iguana I use to keep fake silk plants with him while he was still young.

if you add plants use fake ones. my rhino was good with them for a while then one day he decided to try and eat them. needless to say he has no plants in his enclosure now.

also he was always digging them up.

I really dont think there is such a plant that would stand up to the abuse any iguana would put on it. I have spanish moss in my iguana tank but I hardly consider it a plant.
The only reason it works is because it is not colorful enough for Julio to want to eat it... he has also destroyed any silk plants I put in there since apparently they taste just as good as the real thing...

Alright. I was just hoping to liven the space up a bit, but I figured he'd probably uproot or eat anything I put in there...

If you want later you can do it in the room your housing your ig in but there are some big limitations and impositions. In the terrarium like it was stated already, its risky to even use fake ones. I no longer use that on my igs.

Maybe when we grow collards, mustards, and other lettuces next summer, I'll transplant some into a pot indoors so that he can graze on it as he wants to...

they will be gone within the week. Trust me , iguanas are pigs!

Depending on the size of your enclosure you can put hibiscus in. i had a decent sized hibiscus plant in with my iggy for a while until he discovered the flowers were better than his salad.... If he doesn't gorge on it it's a great plant for climbing and hiding and basking...but most igs and other plant eaters lavish hibiscus flowers and leaves
