What SH have you got make a differance The smaller ones like a tank that should have a cover of floating plants to diffuse the lighting, which should be dim. It should be well-planted and have many hiding places.
if your snakehead is big then a nice peace of bog wood so he can go and hide must be a nice size which stands up of the bottem of the tank aswell plus a nice blue or dim lighting,plants would be ok with the smaller snakeheads.but for the bigger ones you need some think thay cant rip up of the bottem.
Sand works, bogwood with java fern or anubias growing on
it looks great, indian fern and hornwort make great floating
plants and none require strong lighting.Keeps my channas happy
I use vallis, java fern, shinnersia (oak leaf), dwarf sagittaria and floating indian fern. Here's a snap. As said above this only really works with the smaller species though
