I currently have a 40 breeder with a pair of convicts which you can see in my other post. I currently have Marimo moss balls in it right now. What other plants should I do that they would kill? Like java fern?

Thank you! Can I plant them in sand or would I have to add something more? I have never done plants

Both of these have a rhizome not normal plant roots so you can’t plant these. They need to be attached to rock or driftwood.
The rhizome has to be exposed if you buried it they can rot.

floating plants.

So if you look at my tank would I be able to attach it to what is in my tank or would I need to add something to the tank for it to be stuck on

If you have the tanks hard scape already done you can just decide where you would want to add the plants and just add them to that.
Rock, driftwood, fake decor. You only need to attach the plants either by tying it or gluing it with cyanoacrylate glue (Super glue)

You can use fishing line or, I like to use brown or green sewing thread to wrap around the rhizome and driftwood. It blends well and once the plant starts to grow onto the wood the thread will just rot away.

Dpending on the size Id say you could stick them in the holes of the creates.

There’s lots of videos on how to do it.
You just have to decide what’s best for your situation.
