I was wondering if there are any underwater plants that can live with duckweed at room temperature? I wanted to make a low light planted swamp themed aquarium for my warmouth sunfish, and i wanted to have duckweed. I know that they will cover the surface, but some light will pass it.

what do you mean live with duckweed? most plants dont care much about temp as long as its not super cold.

I would say Anubia of any kind, java ferns, java mosses, tiger hygro, dwarf lillys they all do decent in low light and I have never had an issue with temp.

Are there any better floating plants For an aquarium with a low-moderate flow that pushes at a diagonal return of water? I do not want it to clog the filter. The tank is about a foot tall. Also I will look for those plants at my LFS

Check out brazilian pennywort. I'm just getting into planted myself and only have duckweed in one tank. I have another tank I'm about to get the pennywort for, and from what I see googling pics of the pennywort, it goes with the duckweed. Many tanks have both. The pennywort can be planted in substrate and grown up to the surface, or just grown on the surface un-rooted, and it does as well as duckweed in low-light conditions. Personally, I'd go with just the pennywort (as I plan to). You'll see it can grow fast and also isn't just for the surface, it can take over a corner easily and still have plenty of surface leaves....it's just a cool plant and I think it will be much easier to deal with then the duckweed.

oh yeah I forgot about the pennywort! also watersprite makes a good floating plant as well. ( I prefer it floating rather than planted)

This is one of my cichlid tanks with Vallisneria americana, Anubius, a little cryptocorne, and some other plants.
It has an average temp in the mid 70s, and I scoop out net fulls of duckweed every couple days.
