Are plants that you find in your local streams and rivers alright to plant in our tank?

Are you serious chase? You know where we live right? The water plants will go in to a tank will be anywhere from 76 degrees and 84... Think about the plants here you might find in local rivers chase, or the temperature of the water in rivers here my answer is no

I am in Maine and use plants from local waters, I really dont understand what you mean by CA plants cant go in an aquarium. Plants that are in the trade come from all over the world

too cold? that depends on species, last time I checked, Maine waters are a bit colder and my plants are thriving

Have to agree with shenanigans here ive used plants from streams in maine as well it all depends on the plants heat hardyness you have to figure some plants will survive in both cold and warm climates. Plants have both heat and cold tolerances......however that being said alot of northern only growing plants do need a cold cycle.

could try dwarf sag, it is grassy and stays around 6 inches. I have it without c02 and no soil either.

Yh ive been observing some under water grasses in the creek by my house, along with some crayfish, in the warmer pools down by the beach part. Its growing in sand and the water isnt too cold. I might give it a try

make sure you have a quarantine tank before you do... And even if you have success with the plants, make sure you light can support them. And you lighting is like 15 watts chase.
