can you find out how many watts you have and what type of bulbs? they should say right on the bulb the wattage and something like 10000k, 8000k, or maybe 6700k
 
i believe my bulb is 6700k and i have some sword plants that are doing pretty good. i have hydra (hydro?) growing at the surface as well as spangles and water lettuce. this is in a 120 gallon tank
 
I Never had any luck with live plants . Simply the fact of Piranha can easily
spook and up root them . And I find them to be a lot of up keep .

I have crypts and swords in my tank with 6500 k bulbs and my pants are doing well. Also get some java moss that stuff cant die hah.
 
I have a 75g with one brandtii and a convict.. Lots of swords And some other plant which the name slips my mind.. I have 110 watt pc with 2 8000k bulbs and a 4 bulb t5 fixture.. Two 28 watt 10000k and 2 Colormax.. My plants never die..
 
i'm kinda guessing you're going to be looking for plants that do well in low light, if that's the case, you can't go wrong with java fern, java moss, anubias, and crypts. all of those plants should do well in tanks with around 1 wpg, i have about 1.5 wpg and i have a bunch of cryptocoryne wendtii, anubias barteri, java fern, amazon sword, red melon sword, and brazilian pennywort.
