plants w/ cichlids

Does anyone out there have plants in with their larger SA cichlids
I have Chocolates, Sev, Jurapari and Red hump Geos in a 125.
THere are many amazon swords, but I am looking for a few ideas on floating plants-other than duckweed and elodea ( anacaras)

I would love to come across some Hygrophila polysperma-but noone around here caries it anymore

I've had good luck with Amazon Swords and Java Moss. You can float java moss if you don't have an overflow box(es). If floated with an overflow box(es), eventually it'll get stuck in the overflow's teeth lowering flow and dropping the water level in your sump. You can check my sig line for my stock, but suffice it to say they're big CA/SA cichlids.

try java fern attached to driftwood

You can tie it to driftwood and as it grows and spreads, it will end up like a "floating" plant. As long as it's tied to some wood not too close to your intakes, you should be ok.
