I have plants in my 55 gallon aquarium, and started a little 10 gallon project about three weeks ago. Just put some fish in it, and want to now put some plants in it.

Here's the thing. I want to reuse some plants I have in my 55 gallon. However, some of the plants have been lightly taken over with algae. Primarily just around the edges of the leaves. It's nothing big, but it's there. The question is, will putting these plants in the 10 gallon affect any new plants that I put in there? Will the algae spread over to the other plants, or will it ever even come off of the plants that it's already on?

Is it possible to remove the algae on these plants? I would think the plants would spread the algae to the other plants but with a lot of water changes you can reduce the algaes impact. I'm going through a brown algae bloom atm from some driftwood and its a pain in the neck to deal with.
