i want to separate the different batches of fry i have from my convicts. i dont know what to use as the dividers either plastic with little holes, or window screen. i actually have both materials already so either idea would be fine. heating wont be a problem i have 1 in the tank already and a spare one lying around.

only problem i can think of is filtration since its an HOB and most likely going to be hanging on one side.

sounds good. what can i use to make a border around the screen?

Hard to explain but i'll do my best. Go to office max or kinkos, there's a binder for book reports that has a plastic edge with clear plastic covers. Take the edge material and make it the boarder for the screen. it takes some time to get the measurements. When you have a piece that sits pretty good, put two suction cups, rocks or basicically anthing on both sides to keep in place. The fry aren't going to move it anyway. I have 4 5.5 gallon tanks for the breeder and 30 gallon tanks for grow out. All have these screens in place to keep my broods apart.
