Have a question for everyone..
I bought this plate coral a little over a week ago. Was new to the shop I bought it from (only had it a day before I got it) and I brought it home.
Acclimated it, put it in the tank.
I has NOT come out yet. Was out at the shop and started coming out some about three days after I got it, but never fully came out. And the last 3 days, it has NOT come out at all.
Readings in tank are all were they are supose to be. (Nitrates, calcium, phos, etc..) All my other corals are fine. (have alot in this tank)
I even have corals that are harder to keep doing great but not this one..

The lighting is 6 T5 bulbs (usually only turn on 4 bulbs), on the bottom of the tank and in light/med flow. (good water movememnt, but is in a low flow area as there is no direct current on it)

Being this is the very first plate coral I have owned, anything I need to know to maybe help it out some (increses the flow)
Any advice would be good. With it not coming out at first, was not concerned, but its been over a week with very little change.

thanks

Well its probably just stressed, like you said he was just begining to like his home at the LFS when you uprooted him and dropped him into your tank (not littereally). So chances are he just needs a bit more time to adjust. As far as a LPS coral goes, these guys are generally pretty non demanding when it comes to lighting and flow, so thats unlikely to be a problem. I'd say just wait it out and you should be ok, he should start sending out his tenticles any day now.

Hope so. Its still got its color, not bleaching out or anything, just not coming out. Today I decided to move it to a area that has less lighting. The flow is about the same though. Im not really liking were it is, but rather it come out and be happy than have a piece that doesnt come out.. Thanks for the info..

it didnt make it. Have no idea what happened, but its not a expensive white plate..
But thats reef keeping.. :)

sorry bro all i can think of is that maby the flow was off ther dont like direct flow but they do like the flow to move over them.

It happens..

Ive had several plates be real picky right at fist. Once they get acclimated they are really hardy, but the initial acclimation is the key to if they do well, in my experience.
