Beautiful work. Is that a traditional "skin-job" or a fibreglass replica?

I'm not familiar with "platinum" fishes, except for what little I have read on MFK. So, please don't take offence at the following question, but...is that mount still going to be painted? Or is that completely monochrome colouration typical of a platinum gar?

I’m pretty sure it’s the real fish. Gator gars come in all white, black, and even orange (very rare) morphs. Done the same way any fish is line bred for a color morph, I’d assume.
