Hi everyone. This may seem like a noob question but I am wondering why the platinum gene is so rare?
I’m a complete noob at biology and genetics etc so please don’t judge me ;P but I thought platinum genes would just be recessive and if you bred 2 platinum parents together that were homozygous for the recessive platinum gene all the fry would be platinum? This obviously isn’t the case which is why I’m confused at the moment. If anyone could explain this to me it would be greatly appreciated lol.
Cheers, Tom
