In a LFS called Golden Fish Aquariums, they have some "platinum" jardinis. However, I'm not sure if I want to get em because they look pretty much like regular ones only lighter. Any one have pics or experience with more mature looking platinum jards? Have they just turned regular as I've read in older threads?

They look the ones from this older thread:

If they are kept in tanks with white backgrounds, it can lighten their color to where they appear to platinum. there are some things to look out for to see if its legitimatly platinum, i believe tail/fin coloration is one of them....the S'pore guys know more on the subject.

Thanks. What do you mean exactly? What should I be looking out for in the tail/fin based on your knowledge?

It costs about $70.

this should b a more matured plat jar borrow pic from bro @ IP
but is the price is $70 then its a regular jar, probably wtt

hmm, might have to go check them out. so, they must have gotten some fish since I was in there on Saturday or Sunday. did they have any more roseline sharks (torpedo barbs)?

Hi pwmin,

I don't believe I've actually communicated with you, but I respect your contribution to MFK. You've been a valuable resource out here in CO. Thanks.

I wasn't really looking for those sharks, so I'm not sure. You might want to call them to find out. You appear to have a great collection of fish. That's cool. So how do you list all your collection like that?

Anyway, back to the thread, I'm not sure I'm gonna get one of those "plats" now that some of the guys in MFK have enlightened me, but let me know what you think about them when you go by there.

are platinum jars already a regular variation? i mean is this type being regularly bred?

I think it's just a color variation that can't really be bred for, but I'm not sure...mostly just a guess.

thanks  I'm sure we haven't communicated before. It's called a signature. Go to "Quick Links" towards the top of the page and under that it says "edit signature" then you can make anything you want. If I can make it down there, I'll check them out, but I also doubt they're true platinums, just a lighter color and all that was said earlier.
