Platties about to burst?

My female mickey platties look pretty rotund! how do you tell if they are pregnant? If so what next?

u want a lesson on the birds n bees huh.well mom n pop will eat little baby johnnys, u need to have a birthing baskit or at least plenty places for little babys to try n hide,,,good luck

If she is pregnant she will have a dark area behind her abdomen. it will get darker and darker to the point of pitch black right before she pops. also her shape will go from barrel shaped body to more define edge square barrel. she might lose her appetite and try to swim in a secluded area right before birth. if u see this behavior in time u can put her in a breeder tank or net to save the fry cause mom will eat them. plants help alot too for hding babies. feed the babies cfushed of powedered flake or fry food. that is an explanation that deserves applause ...
