I have a 4" peacock bass and a 4" largemouth bass in a tank together with an oscar and the two bass are always fighting. The confusing part is they spend all their time together and even sleep together. Are they just play fighting? They both seem happy and healthy and both eat alot but im concerned because sometimes they get really into it. They dont seem to mark each other up but they will tear up the tank and sometimes they go at it so bad that the oscar (king of the tank at 6") will go in there and break it up. should I be worried or is this just fun for them?

since they arent killing each other, I think they are just trying to find out who is the boss of who...

how long has this been going on?

the p-bass has been in the tank since he was about an inch long I added the lmb when they were both about 3" it started about two days after I added the lmb.

just a territorial dispute, but keep an eye on it, LMB just won't take kindly to tankmates sometimes

well its been going on for about a month now I dont think they are gona give up but o-well I checked up on them a bit ago and they are both cuddled up together in a sand pit they made sleeping its kinda cute lol pretty much the only time they aint scrappin is when they are sleeping or eating one time I took the lmb out to see if he worked better in another tank and the p-bass sat at the bottom of the tank n sulked. It kinda makes me wonder if it is possible to breed a cichlid with a true bass :grinno:
