Play well together?

Lots of people have tanks with that combination, though i've never had experience with the two in the same living quarters, it seems to workout for most people.

Yes they get along great I've kept gars and peacock bass together for years as long as you have a big enough tank for them all to fit in the tank and move around they work great together I kept Florida and spotted gar at the same time with peacock bass and just recently my peacock bass where housed with a alligator gar that was just under 30 inches so if you have a big enough tank for the fish you should have no problems at all and they get along great ive never had a problem once !

I had the combination for a while with two larger Florida Gars and some larger Pbass. They did great together. Some people will tell you that during feeding, the aggressive feeding Pbass will scare the Gars, and the Gars might dart away and hurt themselves. I never had that problem.

True I've heard that and a few of my gars at first got scared by my few big bass when they where feeding because of there fast furious movements but eventually the gars get use to the bass if this problem happens but I've never had any of mine get hurt so nothing really to worry about IMO if the tank is big enough like I said above
