Hay all been watching my rays . My male is chasing the hell out off the female they both spinning round up into the tank yea i know maybe matting but hes no where ready yet claspers still very tiny. Could he be practicing or fighting her

female is 12 inch male 10 as for the age about 2 years old motoros no tank mates . The female as buried her self now and the male is all over tank he will sit on her for a bit then move off. he seems to be blowing down on her hope hes not going to hurt her

maybe your male just suffers from what a lot of men fear.. little "claspers" lol. As far as I know they are the right size for mating.
I have an 8" male motoro with full claspers, I think the the combination of having a female in the tank and two other mature males made him develope faster
He as buried his self now calmed down he was at it last night too chasing her all over and they kept kicking sand up into the filter should have gone bare bottom now
