ok so I got 3 armatus from river wonders when they were like 3" almost a year ago. Im confident the first batch are true armatus but mine grew from 3-12" really really fast. Now they are stopped at 12" for some time and eating more than ever. Wondering why the growth has slowed so much. I want to get these guys to a solid 18" or better so they can really be bad @ss. anyone's bigger than the 12" and its from that river wonders shipment?
 
i was one of the last ones to get one from RW. he was about 3 to 4 inches and took about 4 months to hit his growth spurt. he is only about 6 or 7 inches now.

the first one i got (fang) grew from 6 inches to 18 inches in about 10 months.

im sure urs just slowed down a little.

when fang got bigger he could rely eat, i am feeding him twice a day now. he fills himself up in the morn and at night.
 
I am not yet a member of the Armatus fraternity but it may be that your tank,as big as it is,is not big enough for maximum growth.
 
Proud owner of the smallest Armatus! 8 or 9 inches. Mine was under 3 inches when I recieved it.

Eats between 3 and 6 pieces of smelt/shrimp a day.

i still have u beat, mine is still 6 inches but growing fast now....
 
WHAT? Maybe I measured wrong.

How is this possible??? Mine was seriously like 2.75 in when I got it.
 
4-5" when bought...15" right now...actually measured him last night..doing well...his growth in length has slowed down...but he has been packing on the girth.
