is it ok to grow 5 or 6 discus in a 15G tank??they'l be around 1.5inches in size and they'll only be there for a couple of months before they are shifted to a 55G tank..thank u

If I were you, get the 55g tank. 15g is too small and two months is too long to allow potential growth. Keep the 55g barebottom with daily feedings and water changes. It'll be worth it in the end. You need patience and perseverance when it comes to raising discus.

Hi. I agree with Lupin... get the 55 now.. The most difficult time in raising discus is when they are smaller than 3 inches in size.. That is when they are most prone to stunting and disease and stress related deaths.. That is also when they require the most feedings and therefore the most prostine water conditions.. You can't manage that with 5 discus in a 15g tank.. As qt for a few weeks it's ok but for a few months I think not.. See if whoever you are getting the discus from can hold them for you until you can get a proper tank set up for them. They are beautiful fish but especially as babies, require a lot of care.. Good luck Sue:D
