Please Advise mixing Frontosa

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They would get along fine, but it is somewhat frowned upon to intermix variants when they breed. Fry would be succeptable to 'mooning' (split and uneven stripes). These fry are pretty much worthless in the hobby.

Not looking to sell the babies, thought it would be cool to have a bunch of different fronts, I have Moba's which were pricey what would be the next expensive Frontosa to mix in there, I saw someone on ebay selling what they call Red Frontosa any advice would be great thanks

so i guess all of the frontosa i order aren't the pure bred they are label as? since most of them have crack and broken bars and mooning

Of they were labeled as wild caught or F1, then you might be on to something.

Definitely not good breeding stock then. What were they labeled as?

The red fronts are simply a poor marketing gimmick IMO.

i bought some that was label as f1 mipewpe at 1-2inch idk how its spelt and it came in with 2 being broken cars and haveing a extra bar making it at 7, sold those to another person and bought more that was label as f1 burundi at 2-3inch and about 80% of then have mooning bars so im not sure about the other 20% not showing theres yet
