i would like some help, my tap water is coming out at 8.4 ph, my ro is coming out at 6.8 - 7 ph but when it is being left it is going up to 7.9 ph, i was using hma but it was making the ph jump up too high, so i was told to use pure ro and add mineral supplements at which i did but the ph is going out of control.
could someone please advise on the best way for good water.

the ph of pure water is 7 so it makes sense that is what your ro/di is putting out.
not sure what you mean by hma.

the mineral supplements will buffer your water so its changing your ph

ro water is full of co2 when it first comes out which will be why once oxygenated the ph is going up. thats some seriously hard tap water you have there. you could try using peat in your tanks filter or adding peat to a water butt of ro to see if that helps to soften it before adding to the tank. also new unsoaked bogwood or any pH down or blackwater extract product could also help :)

oh and ps - hma is like an ro unit but without the membrane, just the sediment and carbon filters :)
