as many of you probably heard, china's recently had a devasting earthquake. in fact many of the rural areas still have not received any help at all. :bigeyesad

Isn't china pretty well off, and equipped with a huge army? They're hardly a poor country IMO, surely they're capable of looking after their own? (like the US did with hurricane kartina...)
I'd rather donate to the victims of the cyclone in Myanmar, but I'm sceptical about how much of it will get thru because of their military rulers...
