well come late spring I will be moving into a house and want to setup a monster tank in the basement. The thing is I want it to be salt water(the don't hate me), who better to help me than people who build monster tanks. looking around I see 3 choices. wood, concrete and concrete filled blocks.

what is good for a 2-3000 gallon tank?
is it possible to have one large viewing area over multiple ones at this size?

:welcome: and I applaud your enthusiasm. If you have the financial backing to not only build, but to support this venture, it would be a wonderful undertaking. The guys have giving you some great references. Do your homework in great detail...Done wrong a S/W tank can eat you alive, multiply that by 100 and you would soon be trying to grow mushrooms in it instead of fish.

Keep us posted and good luck..

40,000 for a 1,100 gallon tank, I new it was going to be high but not that high for that size of tank.

I have also been doing some thinking as well, although a 2-3000 gallon tank would be great maby I should limit my self. I am currently thinking about a 300 gallon saltwater tank that I can take with me when/if I move out of the house.

I can also use the left over money to set up a killer home theater system ang still get the cool affect for both the salt water tank and home theater.
