Please explain the term "Troll/Trolling" to me

the short definition, on a discussion forum: A troll generally makes things unpleasant by posting to a message board just to get a reaction, most times a Negative reaction is desired, from other posters.

However, the term is becoming too loosely thrown out.
When the original poster was genuine, but the outbursts of replies are rude & inflammatory... reacting to bait which wasn't bait at all, and then behave like a whole mob of trolls.

This thread seems troll like in nature. Seriously why not just google :screwy:
