i have a 125 gallon aquarium its heavily overstocked, it contains
3 kois, four iridescent sharks, two bala sharks, a pleco, ten color tetras and two angel fish. i know that its overstocked. i have 3 sponge filters big ones and two bio filters. i do a 70 percent water change every week. and to be honest its not that dirty.
now what i need you guys to help me decide is that should i stay with the current stock or should i keep 5-6 red belly piranhas, this way the tank wouldn't be overstocked. now ill post some pictures of my aquarium and the fish and then you guys tell me what i should keep.

You don't want sponge filters in the tank as it would involve your hand in the tank during maintenance with RBP. I would start looking at external filters if you plan to keep RBP. IMHO 70% is too much, try 40% twice a week. You are stressing the fish with new water and in the event that the water company gets a big discount on chlorine, the chlorine content might be too much for the fish, specially the smaller ones.

just get rid of the Koi, it will greatly reduce your biological waste :) You keep koi in pond (as they can grow very large) and not in aquarium :)

When your id sharks grows big, get rid of them too unless your planning to upgrade you fish tank :)

External filter, my father won't allow the thing is we have a really expensive wooden floor so any water that leaks or may leak can cause a lot of damage, so even if I beg he still won't get me one. So I think I'll have to survive with spongfilters.:nilly:

your 125G fish tank can "potentially" leak too! :d

any aquarium can leak, but he wont listen so ill go witht the filtration i have now and should i keep live plants as sometimes the light can go for 9-11 hours, i dont want the piranhas to die without any electricity no electricity means no filtration
