I have an 11 year old Iridescent Shark my son named "Sharkfish" when he was 5...He is about about 15 inches long. He's been such a wonderful fish. BUT, several years ago, we down-sized from a 50 gallon to a 35 gallon..both of which are definitely NOT sufficient housing. We have tried our best over the years not to spook him, but it does happen with them so I've read...that coupled with the small tank & often hitting up against the side of the tank has caused scar tissue to form around his mouth. On top of that, where we live now gets so much sun in the room he is in, the tank glass gets covered in algae that I scrape away every once in a while..I feel so bad for him & our also 11 year old striped silver dollar named "Baby"...I absolutely hate to let them go, but they cannot be happy & I want the last years of thier life to get better not worse. Had I known more about the fish 11 years ago I would have never gotten him because I would've known any tank that I would have would not be a good home for him as he grows. I learned a lesson & am angry with all the pet stores that do not tell novice fish keepers about the fish they are buying! We've done the best we can for as long as we can, but it's time...Anyway, I ran across this site looking for an appropriate home for these guys & it does seem perfect I must say...if someone is interested in 2 sweet & determined "little" fishies
