Hello To All!! Please Help!! My son & I are fish enthusiasts. We particularly love the Cichlids. We are setting up a 30 gal tall aquarium. I have a juvenile convict & a juvenile firemouth, both about the same size & currently housed separately in small temporary aquariums. I don't normally make spontaneous purchases like this, but...I did. So now, here I am, both need to be relocated asap. I realize the tank is supposed to be setup 3-6wks in advance to cycle..but I messed up & purchased them without having the aquarium set up. I promise...I don't do that..I normally spend my time thoroughly researching the fish & the habitat, etc..which I did do to some extent. Obviously, just got excited when I found the fish & bought one of each. I do have the "start right", I think, it's called, solution, which is supposed to make the aquarium ready for fish immediately.. So I'm setting up the tank literally RIGHT NOW & I'm Scared!! I've never had either one of these fish before. I've read a thousand different things about the what ifs and maybe's & am now more confused than ever. I would like to keep the two of them in this tank together. I thought that I might add a rainbow shark as well, but don't know, from conflicting info, whether this is a good idea or not. I HAVE TO get these fish in the tank tonight. The tiny tanks they are now in are inadequate in every way to house them, so I've got myself, and these poor fish into a jam here!! I don't know if I should introduce BOTH to the aquarium at the same time or if I should introduce the firemouth first as it seems to be more shy, or the convict..which is not shy at all. PLEASE....ANY ADVICE IS MUCH APPRECIATED!! (I WON"T make this mistake again)

LOL, convicts and firmouths can be found at ANY single pet store or fish store ever... They are simply bread and butter fish... Please explain why you got so "excited" about these fish... It makes no sense and i have that feeling that you are simply trolling and incase u dont know NOBODY trolls me LOL! Anyways, if this IS real, just add safestart and the ish are hardy they will most likely be fine... Or just take water from one of your other tanks... When i was a noob in the hobby i never cycled tanks and surprisingly never lost any fish due to that... You will be fine...
