I was using a 14 gallon "Bio Cube" (a little all inclusive kit ready to use right out of the box) for about 2 months. every thing was going OK after the first month was over. last week i upgraded to the 29 gallon BIO CUBE. it has been 1 week to the day now. and i still CANNOT SEE MORE THAN ABOUT 5 INCHES INTO THE WATER!!! IT IS SOOOOO CLOUDY!!!! i just dont know what to do. at first i thought it might be the much stronger pump return (which puts the filtered water back into the tank at what seems to be a quite high pressure) blowing the sand aroung, so i pointed it up so the water below the top 25% percent of the tank is now somewhat calm (the sand isnt blowing around anymore).
i just dont know what to do!!! i know this sounds vauge. but it is just cloudy as can be. so cloudy i literally cant see more than a few inches into the tank. my corals are not getting any light as a result too. im willing to try anything here folks. im very worried. any help at all, no matter how little will be so greatly appreciated!!!

anyone? please help me!!! its getting worse (if thats even imaginable). i can only see about 2 inches in now!!! im willing to try anything.... :(

wierd out of no where it just got a lot better. but by no means is the problem over with....
so having the lights off for two days really helped. it got rid of about 70 percent of it.
now, how do i keep it down? what nutrients do most suspended types of algae need to thrive? and where is it coming from? tap water? something i might be using?

this is still a big proplem!!!! :( i have to change the water evry other day. and on the second i cant even see in!!! this is crazy!!! PLEASE, I NEED SOME HELP!!!!

since you just changed your tanks, it is likely not an algae problem per se, but a new tank syndrome problem. Your tank isn't cycled properly.

Is your 14 gallon still running with water in it? If so return the fish and corals to it until the 29 is ready to go. Add gravel, filter material, etc. from the 14 to the 29 to kickstart the filters.

If not, and you have to cycle the tank with your fish in it, buy some 'nitrifying bacteria' from your LFS (I use Cycle, but lots of SW people swear by other stuff) and add it to the water every day. Do lots of big water changes and check for ammonia often. Stop feeding the tank almost entirely. The problem will fix itself over time.

i no longer own the 14g tanks. i put EVERYTHING from the 14 into the 29 though. all the sand all the live rock. the cloudiness is a green color. thats why i though it was algae. i only have access to tap water. should i buy some macro algae to use up the nitrates? ive heard that will help. anyone know how to take care of macroalgae? is there anything else that feeds on nitrate?
