I was going to say remove the fish that tried to eat it- but that list looks pretty tame. How big and what kind of Pleco- there are lots.

My guess that it got stuck under/in some decor in the tank, or even the filters intake screen or???

It'll be fine as long as your tank is in good shape. keep an eye out for any secondary infections, and a bit of aquarium salt should be added (1tbsn /10 gallons should be fine) as it will help your fish heal.

I am not sure which kind of plecco it is but it hangs out with the bgk a lot. Its a 30 gallon tank. I I have a fluval 305 filter that I have caught him hiding next to it before. (part where water goes in) could that be it? And okay I will put some salt in. thank you very much for you help! He is my favourite fish and I want him to be healthy

Test ur water and make sure it's ok, the scratching is not an unusual behavior every once and a while but if it's constant it might be a sign of a problem. If you can keep ur water parameters in check and ur water clean his fins should heal in no time. Also note they r very sensitive to copper so don't use any medicine that contains copper

Okay thank you very much. I have placed a divider in the tank separating him from the other fish and suction end of the filter. I also added salt and will check the water. I would not give him medicine anyways because ghost knifes have no scales, therefore can not be treated with medicine, (at least the one I use on other fish) thank you again for your help.

They can be treated with medicine that doesn't contain copper based ingredients anyhow I don't believe medicine is needed in ur case. Pristine water should be enough, just make sure there is no ammonia or nitrates and that nitrites are low. Good luck[/QUOTE

Thank you, I did not know that. Fortunatly I will not be needing any medicine because within a few days he has made a full recovery :) thank you all for your help!
