Hey, my bathroom recently got clogged up and I had to call the plumber. Water and gunk from the toilet rose into the shower. I had to scoop some of that water (which had human feces I believe) into a bucket. That same bucket is the one I use to pour water into my fish tank. I filled the bucket about 2 gallon (out of 5) and had left it out in my backyard accidentally for about two days.

  • Can I to a quick rinse of it and reuse the bucket to fill my aquariums water?
  • Is there any quick way to clean it to be safe?

Use some bleach and than make sure you rinse it out a million times if you really need the bucket. or go buy a $4 bucket at home depot if you dont want to risk it.

Probably no big deal (I mean what do you think is in tank water!). I assume no Drain-O or anything was used though (if it was it would be a deal changer for sure!).

just buy a new one. they're cheap.

if money is an issue then very cheap bleach as the cheap stuff usually has less additives hence its so cheap but if you can afford it and it worries you that much buy a new one.

My aquarium water has fish feces in it :yuck:

why would you even want to hang on to that bucket... if buckets were like $30 each i could undersant that... but for less than $5.... comeon now...
