Ok this afternoon i am going to order the final peice of glass, the bottom. I know it is recommended to go thicker with the bottom but i am leaning on doing it 4 mm instead of 6. the reason is time and money, i am trying to get this project done as quickly as possible because i am going to move in 3 months temporarily and i want it done so i can enjoy it as long as possible.
here are the tank specs...
14 gallons
78 cm long, 25 cm tall and 28 cm wide (31 inches long, 10 inches tall and 11 inches wide.
Options, 4 mm or 6 mm for the bottom.

depends on if you plan on moving it without substrate, and if you are going to have a supporting surface under it, i would recommend going with 6mm if you can but if not, make sure its completely empty moving it, and also you have a good support under it

Thank you!!! what do you mean 'good support under the tank"? styrofoam?
Thank you very much.

something good and solid that wont flex, personally i build solid ply stand tops, you just wanna make sure you arent giving the glass room to bow

I got 4 mm glass, i couldnt wait another week. i will keep my fingers crossed.
Should i put styrofoam under the tank or keep it on the wood?

yeah, i use a think packing foam to cushion my tank, that way it doesnt have much room to move, but still isnt beating straight on the wood
