Ok, I bought my duaghter a 30 gallon convict tank, I bought it a week ago. With 4 convict's, the biggest CON is a 6 inch male (mating with a 2 inch female). He is attacking her,chasing her, and nipping her?? why the female laid eggs in a pipe, but the male is going nuts?? He is also fighting with the other pair (1 inch, male and female). What should I do?? leave the female in their or get another mate?? It's ridiculous, I bought that 6 inch male for $23.99. HELP ME

you probably only should have one pair in that 30G tank . . . on the one hand, a 30G is more than enough room for one pair, but it sounds like in your situation it's not big enough for two pairs . . .
if you were to return one of the two pairs - - including maybe that 6" one that you paid so much for - - then you'll solve much of the aggression problems

Yes, male Convicts can be mean mean mean, sometimes they kill the females. The one solution that I know will work (but you won't like) is to pick your favorite and take the rest back. Some female or male Convicts won't attack fish like Cory Cats or small Plecs. Maybe you could get some Corys and a Bristlenose for the tank and just 1 Convict.
Why, would I do that?? "keep 1 convict"?? Well, I just got rid of the 1 inch pair. So, I'm keeping my 6 inch male with my 2 inch female...but he is still crazy, I tried cleaning out my tank...he bit my hand so hard, I drew blood!! so he is very mean!!

as ive had way too many convict pairs i cant pass commenting on this.
In order to fix the situation the correct answer would have been keep the smaller pair and wait them out. But since you got rid of the smaller pair you probably wont have the problem much longer. Unless the female can constantly stay hidden its just a matter of time until he kills her. The only way i could see keeping them in the same tank with any hopes of spawning is to put in a egg crate divider with a couple of tall rocks close to it she may decide that if shes safe shes ok with spawning with the male

Well, I have 1 pair right now and this pair...thank you so much fish junkie. I will Get a divider. Make them lay egg's until the fry come out. Then Seperate the male. This helped.
