I posted a pic in the cichlid section, but no one seems to know what this is. The more research I do, the more I wonder if it is HITH. Anyone ever seen this before?

It could be...

but it almost looks like a convex shaped lesion. I'm really sorry, but it's a bit difficult to tell from the pictures. Could you give a description of what it looks like to you? Ah, where's a 3-D pic when you need it?

I don't know. It looks like some kind of fungal infection.

It looks like it could be a secretion from a parasite from HITH... sometimes they do show this white matter or it could be HITH and then a secondary bacterial infection going on because of it.. i hope none of the above but thats what it looks like..is he still eating... and otherwise okay,..?

Try doing a lot of water changes. HITH is caused by bad water conditions. Keep doing water changes and if it is HITH, it will clear up with no after effects to the fish. The Doctor.

It looks like a pimple, but then it clears up, leaves a pit and starts on another spot. This is what it looked like when it started.

He was in a 55g with a school of rainbows, an angel, and another BP. I moved him to a qt tank, raised the temp, and added salt. This doesn't seem to be helping.

If it is HITH it takes time and patience to cure.. very good that you moved him to Q tank to avoid anyone else getting it and to treat the tank just for him..good luck

if it is HITH, water changes and vary the diet.
