i have a 4 inch senegal bichir with his buddy, a 4 inch jack dempsey.. now i don't know exactly how much to feed them so could someone help me out here?
i just need a plan for the feeding

so here are the foods that i have:

tilapia filet (cut to really small cubes)
frozen tubifex
freeze dried crickets (originally for my lizard)
freeze dried blood worms
API bottom feeder pellets
New Life Spectrum large fish formula
live mealworms

if you think you can help with the jack dempsey, you can post here!:) very much appreciated!

I just feed once a day at bedtime 10-11 pm, either
NLS 3mm sinking pellets
Omega One sinking shrimp pellets
Hikari sinking wafers.
(I don't like Hikari sinking carnivore pellets. Expands in water too much, I think it makes the fish constipated and bloated.)

Once I stuff them with one big meal, it seems like it takes 24 hours for them to poop it out and shrink back down. So feeding more than once a day would just cause bloat.

Bichirs go hide and sleep for like 10 hours after a meal. So you'll want to feed them at your bedtime, since they are so boring when full.

I would feed 75% Nls Thera-a 3mm, and then earth worms, meal worms, frozen tubifex, and other frozen/live foods for treats. The freeze dried stuff I would toss.

You could feed this same diet to your Dempsey also.

I give a small feeding morning and night.
I give a combination of Frozen bloodworms, chicken liver or heart and raw shrimp.
He has very defined colours and growing fast.

I wouldn't keepthe JD with the bichir since it might kill the bichir.

No it should be fine, I feed mine cut market shrimp and floating carni-sticks (i got the wrong bag when I first got him and now he will only take the shrimp off the bottom
