Please Help Fast. My Catfish is turning Pale and his belly is swollen and he is floating at the top of the tank. He looks doesn't look too weak, hes fighting to swim and not float to the top. I think His Swim bladder is swollen with too much air, what can I do?

1. What is the size of your tank? 55g

2. What are your water parameters? IDK, haven't bought a test kit.

3. How long the aquarium has been set up? 2 months

4. What fish do you have? How many are in your tank? How big are they? How long have you had them? Blue Channel Cat, Tiger Oscar, Green Texas Cichlid, and 2 wild caught Crawfish. The Cichlids are 2-3.5 Inches, Catfish 4 Inches, Crawfish are 1-2 Inches.

5. Were the fish placed under quarantine period (minus the first batch from the point wherein the tank is ready to accommodate the inhabitants)? No

6. What temperature is the tank water currently? 80 Degrees

7. Are there live plants in the aquarium? Yes

8. What filter are you using? State brand, maintenance routine and power capacity. IDK

9. Any other equipment used (aside from heater and filter which are two very important components of the tank)? No

10. Does your aquarium receive natural sunlight at any given part of the day? What is your lighting schedule (assuming you do not rely on sunlight for our viewing pleasure)? Yes the tank receives sunlight from around 10am-1pm. I Turn the light on at 8pm-11pm

11. When did you perform your last water change and how much water was changed? How often do you change your water? Do you vacuum the substrate? Today 50% water change, Once a week, yes

12. What foods do you provide your fish? What is the feeding schedule? I supply floating Cichlid pellets

13. Have you treated your fish ahead of diagnosis? No

This is swim bladder disorder to me. Switch your floating pellets to sinking and try to add vegetable matter on his diet. If he doesn't budge, make gel foods with beefheart and veggies combined. Add garlic on it to persuade him to eat.
