I got a whiptail at my lfs. They called him "round face whiptail". When I got home, of course I did a search under that name, but absolutely nothing came up. I found it's scientific name, pseudohemiodon lamina, but there's almost NO info on it. The link below has a pic of it. I will try and put up a pic tomorrow. He's really cool looking, does have a rounded face with 2 long and large whisker barbs, with several smaller ones around his mouth.....reminds me of "the predator", :lol2: Excellent eater, let me tell you!!

My camara is on it's last legs....so forgive the blurriness of the pics. In one pic it shows the tailfin part...the top is a high spike while the bottom part is edged black

wow....cool pleco...i've never seen anything like it.

all i can tell you is that it is very rare and it is a lip breeder

oh, $69.99....I got it as my hubby loves the royal whiptail, and haven't been able to find one. But this guy is really neat, and always busy.

As for the info....there's just *nothing* out there about it. My lfs store said that basically all of the loricaridae are about the same, but I couldn't understand why I searched for this type absolutely nothing came up. They said it's very uncommon too, I just didn't realize this uncommon....

Is this really what it"s called then...pseudohemiodon lamina, aka roundface whiptail, or is it called something else? My lfs said in their system it's also called loricaridae circular, but it doesn't look like that one either.
