Please Help ID Fish

I was wondering if someone could tell what type of fish this is? It was given to me by a family member whom got this one among a few others at a yard sale. I can try to get a closer picture if needed. Thanks!

looks like a sleeper goby of some kind

They are awesome fish.

He was given to me free along with 2 leaf fish, and 1 albino bichir. Is it fine to keep the goby in fresh or brackish water?

Freshwater is fine. but keep in mind these swimming garbage disposals can reach 10" in under a year and are true tank buster. they become great wet pets though

WOW! Well I have them all in a 50 gallon now. If he did get too big I can always put him on Craigslist for someone that has a bigger tank. The family member I got all the fish from was going to throw all the fish over the fence if I didn't take them.
