Please help ID my Pleco

This guy does not come out often - only when it is dark or when I do a major water change.

I've never been able to find an exact match but he's close to L040, L049, L072, L080, L103 or L288.

Very flat body and dorsal fin is never extended. About 4.5 inches.

Sorry about the lousy photo - bad lighting.

Any help is appreciated!

My guess is a "butterfly pleco" L52 also (it has the flat shape you describe). For the "fancier" plecos, they are more common and relatively cheap. They also change color getting darker on darker background (I think they look best on a brown or green background).

Thanks guys - when I typed L072 in my intro above, I fat-fingered and had meant L052...

I rarely see him and when I do, the other fish seem as surprised as I am!
