Please help ID this fish

Hi everyone,

So yesterday I was at a LFS that specializes in rare freshwater fish and even though I know that I should research fish before I buy them, I bought one. The guy told me what it was called but of course I completely forgot. It is about 3.5-4 inches long right now. I was told that they are very rare, at least here in Canada. Can you guys please help me ID this fish? I have been looking but cannot seem to find it anywhere. It is South American, I think either from Brazil or Columbia.

I have one of those, I'm not sure what it's called though. Stays tiny, nocturnal from my experience.

Although common Banjo cats aren't rare...that one is a really neat species. Cool pick up!
