This guy came in as an upsidedown catfish at the LFS. I picked him up for his odd coloration.
He is black with some silver scales thrown in here and there. He is always upsidedown unless he flips to grab a piece of food. His top tail fin is elongated. He is about 2 inches long. And hes super active, spends all day long going back and forth across the tank, as he makes his rounds he chases and nips any other fish that are near him (corys, gouramis, rainbows, bristlenose pleco).

Ive had regular upsidown cats before and a few other Synodontis, but ive never seen one get aggresive, I looked thru every Synodontis on planetcatfish.com but dont see anything that matches his color.

any help would be great.
Thanx

Looks a lot like a Black Lancer cat Bagricthys macracanthus.

I started looking thru family Bagridae on that suggestion, and found Asian Upside Down Catfish (Mystus leucophasis), matches perfect.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

Now i feel the need to bang my head on a wall since i will have another foot long catfish to contend with.
