They would really appreciate sand. They do better in small groups of at least 4. Prefer ph around 6.5-7 and temp in the low 80's. Not picky eaters ime. Feed them krill, and high quality pellets to make there's color shine. I don't think you should have any problems housing them with dats, just watch the dats for aggression once they catch up in size. And make sure not to include too much protien in their diet. Spirulina flakes or pellets are also appreciated. Also make sure you have a large tank(72x18 footprint at least) as they reach 12" in size.
