So, I purchased 2 discus out of an "ASST Discus tank"

I am pretty sure the orange one is a pigeon blood (could be wrong)

But i have no clue what type the other is with the vertical bars. Any Ideas??

Thank for helpn out.

Unfortunately, the specimens you bought aren't exactly healthy. They're stunted as you can see by their disproportionately large eyes when you compare to their body size. I wouldn't suggest buying them from your LFS. Local breeders are your best bets for healthy specimens.

They are rather scrawny looking. With good care, and depending on how old they are, you may be able to get at least some growth out of them. Good luck, and feed em! :D Red fish looks like a PB.

Thanks, I bought them only 4 days ago.....they eat like pigs, frozen bloodworms and discus flakes. The are very interactive, not shy at all and were feeding hours after introducing them to the tank.

Go get some frozen beef heart from your LFS. San Francisco Bay brand sells them packaged in cubes. Chop the still frozen cubes up into smaller pieces on a cutting board with a sharp knife. I use a meat cleaver. That will put some meat on them bones!

cool, thanks. Kinda new to the discus thing.

X2 beefheart will get some bones on them and help with growth.
