In my old tank before i moved accross states. i have this kind of sand that i don't know the name of which was perfect for my stingray as it doesnt pack down and is very loose for him to hide under when he feels like to. i bought it from a fishstore. i am having problem trying to find the same kind of sand for my new tank, can someone identify and tell me what i should be looking for?
thanks
here's a picture of my old tank

that aro isn't looking too good by the gills. Looks like pool sand

his gills was all curved up when i bought him off a lfs, then i did gill op on him and cut away all the curved up part as the past owner water quality was probably horrible to cause it to curve up that much (not only the gill but it also curve up the bone/catelige part). i also cut away the rotten top / bottom fin and part of his tail. as you can see fins and tails grew back properly , but gill cover never did grow back. he lived another year or 2 then passed away.

do you happen to know where i can get them? are they cheap? they were really expensive sold at the fish store when i bought them from ($30/bag i think, and that tank is a 100 gallon, took 2,3 bags)

check pool supply stores.. home depot.. construction supply yards will sell silica sand in several grades as well ... id go 000 grade as its very fine...
