My LFS is calling the fish an arrow shark.It has a body shape similar to a bala.It is white with thin black lateral lines.LFS says they get 6" long.Sorry no pics.Some info or even guesses would be greatly appreciated.

That is the fish in question.I can't find any info on them.I tried to pm you back but it says your all full up.
The fish in question is a labiobarbus festivus or a signal barb. Still can't find any decent info . If any one finds a good link i would be very greatful.
