Hi there...

i was looking at my lfs and saw a beautiful cichlid (most likely american) and it looks like a pair...because one is bigger about 1" from the other...both are around 3"-4"

They have body type like most american cichlid...(oscar, green terror, etc)..

the color looks almost like checkerboard lyre tail BUT they only have middle spots..about 5 spots from tail to head...(no TOP spots) and along the top fin have beautiful red and green spots..

the color of the tail is plain but shaped like midas cichdlid triangle shaped...

all over the body have somewhat shiny green spot over the zaitun color bodied..and the face have shiny green spot shinier than those of on the bodies..

i know my description is somewhat not clear..picture is not possible coz the store won't let me took it...they only have 2 left..so the price is sort of on sale...

any idea what kind of species it is?

any help is appreciated..thx in advance

nope..it's DEFINETELY not green terror...the shiny part is not as 'obvious' as green terror...althought he body type and color is looks like one..

the green terror have one big spot in the body and round tail w/ yellow edge...

the fish i saw have 4 small black spots along the head until the tail...the spot is move obvious than the shiny green spots... the tail is triangular w/ body base color is green olive....

can't you at least try for a pic bro? really difficult to imagine the whole thing. my head keeps on adding other details, i'm ending up with a dream cichlid. LOL!

I'll see what i can do about the pics....

after browsing and browsing..it MIGHT be an Five-Spot African Cichlid / Thysochromis ansorgii and apparently it's an AFRICAN...my gut feeling might be wrong...

i'm still not sure though because as u've said i tend to add more details..

i'll try to get pics if possible...

attached is somewhat an actual pics of fishses that i thought i saw in the lfs...will go back there to make sure and take pictures if possible...

the pics are from cichlids of America
