Ok so my tanks and stock are listed in my signature. I am trying to decide which fish to keep and which have to be rehomed because I have too many fish for my available tank space.. I know that I am not trying to give up my Red Devil so he is staying in the 125, but I am trying to decide between the jack and the flowerhorn for the 60 gallon. I love jds but they can be very shy when they grow up. I would like to keep the fish that will be the most active and have the best personality. My flowerhorn is not the best quality but I think she is pretty so she would be worth keeping depending on her adult personality. Which do you all think will be more active and personable as an adult? Flowerhorn or jack dempsey? Also could the jack dempsey stay with the RD with lots of caves?

***125 GALLON: 1 Red Devil, 1 Jack Dempsey and 1 Green Terror.
60 GALLON: 1 Vieja Syn and 1 Flowerhorn.***

Every fish you have will grow to be beautiful! The jd is the only one that are most known for being shy. The red devil could grow up to be a jerk which would cause it to be a loner along with the flowerhorn! I live in oklahoma and I never run across syns or any other vieja species so I would in your position keep the syn and place it and the jd in the 125 and put your red devil in the 60 as a wet pet. You didn't list sizes so if they are young combine your 3 favorite until one becomes a jerk and then move the jerk to the 60. Good luck!

The rd is 5 inches the syn is 7-8 inches, the jack and GT are about 3 inches. My 3 fav arebthe Rd the jack and the flowerhorn

I think the dempsey is gonna be stunning once full grown

Flowerhorns are more personable and as they age, they reach out to the owner and interact a lot.
JD's can stay with an RD with lot of hiding spaces and are also known to be aggressive

remove them all. i would say keep the JD , but to fully color up need a female, tank to small. look into barbs , cardinals. and the such, IMHO.

Flowerhorns never really do much to interest me and both jd ive had were not very personable. Green terror on the other hand... would be nice in a 60g with a few dither fish. Beautiful show fish when big and good personality but not so agressive they need to be kept solo. Green terrors are one of my all time favorite cichlids

I had to move the jack and the GT from the 125 because Jason the RD was picking on them. So I updated the stock in my sig. My RD is now picking on the flowerhorn. If Jason dont play nicely he is gonna be by his self sooner vs later

I do like the green terror too. He is very very active. Will he be as active once he is fullgrown? Also I've read that they are slow growers, how long will it take for him to reach fullgrown size? What would some good dithers be for him in the 60 gallon?

***125 GALLON: 1 Red Devil, 1 Flowerhorn and 1 12 inch pleco.
