need help deciding on a gravel color that would make my fish colors stand out. i have a 180 with black painted backround. fish are super red severum, rokteil sev, yellow sev, 3 dats 5 fronts 4 red head geos 2 green terrors and a parrot. had lfs aquarium sand and love the look but hated the problems that came along with it went through a few impellers. i have a huuuuuuuuge piece of manzita driftwood and some nice real looking fake plants anyway let me know what you thinks for a grave color----oh the stand and canopy are jetblack high gloss wood

I hope you know what Im talking about, I plan on using this gravel for my upgrade and I think it will accent your fish's colors. Its a dark river rock color, if you can figure that out. I will look for a link as I found it at the LFS.

If you want good color you can start by getting a different colored backround. Black b/r washes out colors. It works well for hiding hardware though.
Personally I think cichlids prefer sand over gravel. Light colored sand will bring out the colors in the lighter fish. The yellows and reds and light blues. The darker sands will bring out the colors in the darker colored fish. Neon green colored plants help as well. Coloring enhancing foods and nice clean water, and your all set.

so maybe a blue backround??
